Texas Arbor Day at the Elgin Recreation Center | Saturday, November 5th from 10AM – 12PM

Join the Elgin Parks & Recreation Department for Texas Arbor Day in Elgin Memorial Park by the Elgin Recreation Center on Saturday, November 5th from 10AM – 12PM. Elgin Parks & Recreation will be leading tree planting to add to the Edible Arbor Walk, volunteers and partner organizations will be teaching about native flora and fauna, and patrons will be able to experiment with nature crafts, games and more!


Texas Arbor Day will have hands-on activities, tree plantings and educational materials to help us learn about the importance of trees as well as crafts like birdseed mosaics, bird feeders, and stone decorating. Participants are encouraged to pre-register to ensure that there are enough supplies for everyone to enjoy! https://secure.rec1.com/TX/elgin-tx/catalog

The Elgin Parks & Recreation Department encourages residents to “green” the City of Elgin by planting 150 trees in Elgin for the "Tree Replanting Elgin Experiment" or T.R.E.E. Initiative! We encourage citizens, organizations and businesses to commit to purchasing and planting one or more trees in their space this November to help grow the green in Elgin for the next 150 years! Between now and November 15th, you can get 10% off your tree purchase for the Elgin TREE Initiative if you mention "TREE Initiative" or "Texas Arbor Day" at check out at Bloomers!


Be sure to email you with your newly planted tree to parks@elgintexas.gov so we can record the planting!
