To Celebrate Elgin’s Sesquicentennial, the Elgin Parks & Recreation Department is encouraging every resident, organization, and business to plant a tree this fall in honor of Texas Arbor Day.
Along with their annual Texas Arbor Day event on the first Saturday of November, the Elgin Parks & Recreation Department want to encourage the “greening” of the City of Elgin through partnering with local organizations and individuals to plant 150 trees to celebrate Elgin’s 150th. You can get involved by:
1. Purchasing a tree at a local nursery.
2. Plant your tree on your property or at your business.
3. Sign the TREE Pledge.
4. Take a picture of you with your tree and email them to parks@elgintexas.gov
